‘I Thank God He Was Holding a GUN’: Govinda’s Manager on Shocking Late-Night Incident

Bollywood actor Govinda has once again found himself at the centre of controversy, this time over claims that he believes people are trying to harm him. Responding strongly to these allegations, Govinda’s manager, Shashi Sinha, has dismissed such talk as baseless and misleading. 

Speaking to ANI, Sinha defended the actor and cited an alleged early-morning incident at Govinda’s residence, insisting that the concerns are rooted in real events and not imagination.

When asked whether Govinda is living under a ‘vaham’ (illusion) that people are out to kill him, Shashi Sinha firmly denied it. He claimed that the actor has received threatening calls and referred to an incident that allegedly occurred around 3–3:30 am.

“On the day this incident happened, many people had gathered. I cannot imagine what would have happened had bhaiyya been holding a mobile phone instead of a gun. I am thankful to God,” Sinha told ANI.

However, the manager did not clarify the exact date of the incident.

Sinha further claimed that there was no security present at Govinda’s house at the time of the alleged incident. He stated that he has video evidence related to the matter and that an FIR has already been filed with the police. Expressing anger over public speculation, he said, “Stop this faltugiri. People speak as if Govinda is a criminal. Nobody knows him better than I do. The kind of abuses we have had to hear is not right.”

The statements have revived memories of an October 2024 incident when Govinda was hospitalised after suffering a gunshot injury. At the time, police sources said the injury was self-inflicted, with no signs of external involvement. After being discharged, Govinda himself addressed the media and clarified the situation.

“It was early morning, around 4.45–5 am. The revolver fell and misfired. I felt a jolt and then saw blood,” the actor said, urging people not to link the incident to any conspiracy or foul play.

Govinda was last seen on the big screen in the 2019 film Rangeela Raja. He has since appeared on television as a judge on Dance Bangla Dance but has stayed away from films. With conflicting narratives now doing the rounds, Sinha’s comments have added another layer to the discussion surrounding the actor’s safety and recent controversies.
