Aamir Khan, 61, Confirms 3rd Wedding: Will His 15-Year-Old Son And Gauri Spratt's 7-Year-Old Son Attend?

Aamir Khan has finally ended weeks of speculation by confirming that he will marry Gauri Spratt on July 5 at his Bandra home. The 61 year old actor revealed that the ceremony will be a simple registered marriage under the Special Marriage Act with only close family and a few childhood friends. Speaking to the media, Aamir said, "Shaadi hai 5 July ko. Ghar pe hi kar rahe hai. Bahut hi choti shadi hai. Dono families hai aur kuch khaas dost hai." The couple has also decided not to host a grand Bollywood reception.

One of the biggest highlights of the wedding is the presence of all four children from their previous relationships. The actor confirmed that Junaid Khan, Ira Khan, Azad Rao Khan and Gauri Spratt's seven year old son will all be part of the celebration. Reports suggest the children will also help with parts of the intimate home function, making the gathering a true family occasion instead of a star studded event.

The event is planned by the couple by taking into account simplicity. The official marriage registration and family meeting will be held in Aamir's apartment in Mumbai. Aamir mentioned that, "Now we both feel we are ready to take our relationship to the next level. I am already married to her in my heart. So to formalize our togetherness just seems like a natural progression" during the interaction with the media.

The announcement also included Aamir's trademark humour as being asked about getting married again at his age, Aamir answered, "Iss umar mein shaadi karna mujhe shobha nahi deta." However, just several minutes later, the actor confessed that the life of a man alongside Gauri brings a stability and happiness for him. The marriage comes after the friendship that lasted almost 25 years and turned into the relationship.

In contrast with other big Bollywood weddings, in which celebrities, performances and fancy venues play the central role, here everything will be focused on the family. The relatives are supposed to celebrate together after the marriage registration, while the friends will be invited to the private ceremony. It means that, apparently, for Aamir Khan , this marriage is more about uniting the families than about anything else.
