Buzz around India’s Got Latent Season 2 has picked up again after a viral video sparked fresh speculation about its release date. A clip featuring Samay Raina’s close friend and collaborator Balraj Ghai has gone viral, with fans believing it may have hinted at a possible return of the show on May 9.

The discussion started after Samay Raina recently interacted with fans during an Instagram AMA session. When asked about the second season, he said the show is not returning immediately as he is currently on a break. However, he confirmed that planning for India’s Got Latent Season 2 will begin soon after his break ends.

During the AMA session, Samay Raina reportedly said, “I’m enjoying this break for the entire month right now. After that, I’ll start planning,” giving no fixed release date but keeping expectations alive among fans.

Soon after, a video of Balraj Ghai surfaced online and quickly went viral. In the clip, he is heard casually talking about the show’s return, which led many viewers to believe he may have accidentally revealed the timeline. He says, “Honestly speaking, I am so grateful right now. I am so happy that everything is falling back into place. Sab sahi ja raha hai. Finally. And ab bas main Ninth ke liye ruka hoon. Second season drop hoga aur phir uske baad duniya bhai, jo bhai…”

The mention of “Ninth” triggered strong online speculation. Many users connected it to a possible 9 May release date for India’s Got Latent Season 2. Social media quickly reacted, with one user asking, “It’s dropping in just 2 days?” 

Another commented, “Ab hoga dhamaka.” At the same time, some viewers dismissed it as a marketing strategy to build hype.

Samay Raina has already confirmed that India’s Got Latent Season 2 will return in a bigger and more unpredictable format. Speaking during the finale of his stand-up special Still Alive, he reflected on Season 1 and said, “I don’t think my show could have ended on a higher point than this. Let me rephrase that, I don’t think my show’s Season 1 could have ended on a better note than this”.

He further added, “Show toh main laaunga bhai kyunki maza aata tha woh show karne mein (I will bring the show back because I enjoyed doing it)”.

Samay also hinted that Season 2 will be more raw and unfiltered. He said, “I want to do a wild, wild show. Internet mein ekdum softy version daalenge (I’ll put a softer version on the internet)”. He even suggested that audience phones might be restricted to keep the experience more spontaneous.

The first season of India’s Got Latent faced controversy in February 2025 after a question asked by guest Ranveer Allahbadia sparked backlash. Following the incident, multiple FIRs were filed and episodes were later removed from YouTube.
