Ahead of the Bigg Boss 20 premiere, Tanya Mittal is looking back at a difficult moment from her time on the show's previous season. The Bigg Boss 19 finalist recalled facing tough questions during Media Day and breaking down afterward.
Tanya shared a clip from the media round along with a long note on Instagram. She explained that the upcoming premiere brought back memories of her own time inside the house.
Tanya Mittal Recalls Her Difficult Media Day
Tanya said Media Day remains an experience she cannot forget. She had been excited to meet the media after spending more than 90 days in the Bigg Boss house. She remembered thinking, "Aaj Mumbai ki media mujhse milne aa rahi hai."
However, the experience turned out very differently from what she expected. Tanya recalled being laughed at when she said “Jai Shri Ram” and facing several taunting remarks.
She said, "Lekin jo hua, uske liye main bilkul tayyar nahi thi. Aaj bhi yaad hai… mere “Jai Shri Ram” bolne par hansna, mere upar tanz kasna. Sawal sahi ya galat nahi hote, unhe poochne ka tareeka hota hai. Aur us din har sawaal aisa lag raha tha jaise mujhe samajhne ke liye nahi, mujhe giraane ke liye poocha ja raha ho."
Tanya shaed that the moment made her feel as though everyone hated her. After returning to the house, she cried and questioned what she had done to make people dislike her so much.
Tanya Says Some Media Round Moments Were Not Telecast
Tanya also pointed out that viewers only see the edited version of events on television. According to her, part of the Media Day was not shown in the episode.
"Aap logon tak jo episode pahunchta hai, woh edit hokar aata hai. Shayad aap nahi jaante ki us media round ka ek hissa telecast bhi nahi hua tha. Bahut saari baatein rok di gayi thi. Mahaul itna bhaari tha ki Bigg Boss ko bhi beech mein intervene karna pada."
Looking back, Tanya said the experience became an important lesson for her. She learned that disagreements do not always mean hatred, although being different can sometimes feel lonely.
She also reflected on how strongly words can affect someone. Tanya said the experience made her “thodi aur soft,” “thodi aur empathetic” and “thodi aur samajhdaar.”
Tanya became one of the strongest finalists of Bigg Boss 19 after a memorable run on the show. Her unusual personality and stories made her a noticeable presence, while her claims about her factories and large saree collection often drew attention. She was also called fake by some people inside and outside the house.
Meanwhile, Bigg Boss 20 is set to premiere on September 6, 2026. Salman Khan will return as host for the milestone season, which will air on Colors TV and stream on JioHotstar.
