Was Filmmaker Mahesh Jirawala Just 700 Metres Away from the Crash? Where Is He Now?

Ahmedabad (Gujarat) [India], June 16: On June 12, Ahmedabad was shaken by a tragic plane crash that took 270 lives. Among the many families now living with fear and pain is the family of filmmaker Mahesh Jirawala. That day, he left home to meet someone near Law Garden. His last call to his wife Hetal was at 1:14 pm. Then, suddenly, all contact was lost.

The biggest worry for Mahesh’s family is that his last phone location showed he was just 700 metres away from the crash site in Meghaninagar. Since that moment, there has been no sign of him. His scooter and phone are missing. The route he took was also unusual. All this has created more confusion and stress for his wife and children.

Mahesh’s family has submitted DNA samples to the authorities. Out of 270, only 99 victims have been confirmed so far using DNA, while 64 bodies have been handed over. Mahesh’s name has not yet appeared in the confirmed list. His wife Hetal told reporters that the family is only hoping for clarity, even if the truth is painful. The wait has been long and full of worry.

Mahesh Jirawala, originally Mahesh Kalawadia, was popular in Gujarat for his creative work. He directed music videos and ads and ran Mahesh Jirawala Productions. In 2019, he directed the regional movie Cocktail Premi Pag of Revenge. He lived with his wife and two kids in Naroda. He was active on social media and passionate about storytelling in his mother tongue. His disappearance has shaken the local film circle.

Every moment feels heavier for families like Mahesh’s, who still wait for updates. The crash has taken away lives in the air and on the ground. Among the 29 people feared dead on the ground, Mahesh might be one. But till a name is confirmed, hope continues to flicker. His wife’s voice carries sadness, but also strength — the strength to not give up until they find the truth.
