Mumbai (Maharashtra)[India] November 4: Late November is one of the ideal months to travel India, weather starts turning cool and a number of cities and towns become enlivened by festivals. No matter if you prefer mountains, beaches, deserts or ancient cities, India has plenty of incredible places to visit in November.
This month is also special with regard to places ( where) special events and fairs are being organized. You can catch yourself in colorful festivals, try out new food fare and observe from close the astonishing traditions. These are the five places to experience in India in November.
Rajasthan: The Land of Kings
Rajasthan is well-known for its enormous forts, stunning palaces and golden deserts. November is a good month to visit as the days are warm and pleasant. You can visit Jaipur’s Amer Fort, Jodhpur’s blue homes and Udaipur’s lovely lakes. Among the most entertaining is the Pushkar Camel Fair, which showcases an extravaganza of camels, music and rustic general frolicking. The fair only happens in November, and tourists enjoy the festive, brightly colored setting.
Goa: Fun on the Beaches
Goa is synonymous with beaches, parties and a laid-back attitude. November initiates Goa’s bright season. The water is static and the temperature in the air is not too hot, which means it is also ideal for swimming, watersports or long walks on the beach. You can hit up popular beaches such as Baga and Anjuna, check out old churches in Old Goa, and try delicious seafood at small cafes. Music festivals and cultural events are firmly on the schedule too, so celebrations and parties abound.
Varanasi: City of Lights
Varanasi, or Banaras, is one of the oldest cities in the world and peacefully exists on the bank of river Ganga. The city is magical in November during the Dev Deepawali festival, when thousands of lamps are lit along the river. They come from all around to partake in the special prayers and witness the beautiful aarti at the Dashashwamedh Ghat. The temperature feels fairly mild, so exploring the famous ghats or sampling street food in the old part of the city is not too difficult.
Manali: Snowy Adventure
Sitting amid mountains and woods, Manali in Himachal Pradesh is a beautiful town. By November there is already early snow on the mountains and here the air is fresh. For adventurous travelers there's trekking, paragliding and river rafting. There are also benches and tranquil corners to take a seat, relax by the river or enjoy hot tea. The landscape of Manali appears even more picture-perfect – with towering deodar trees and apple orchards, dressed in a sprinkling of early snow.
Rann of Kutch: White Desert Wonder
In Gujarat, Kutch is the site of the incredible Rann of Kutch, one of the world’s greatest salt deserts. It is also the beginning of the famed Rann Utsav, a festival that brings music, dance and food to the white sands. It is a place where people can walk on the salt flats, ride camels, shop for handmade crafts and sleep in desert tents under the stars. The cool evenings and festies round it off very nicely.
