Mumbai (Maharashtra)[India] December 20: Whether you're going to IIT, DU, or a state university, starting college in India is a major step full of promise. A new chapter in life brings the excitement of lively campuses, the richness of different cultures, and the challenge of tough academics. However, the pressure to adjust to the new environment can be very high in the first few days.
How to stretch money when you barely have enough and still establish a good network? The thoughtful plans presented here are testimony to the lived experiences of a student community across colleges in Mumbai, Delhi, and Bengaluru. Welcome them warmly and boldly because no one will do it for you and if you look carefully, the whole college life is an opportunity basket.

Master Time Management

College classes in India are known for conflicting with internships, fests, and family responsibilities. Tools such as Google Calendar or Todoist are helpful for remembering the hours allotted for studies to have daily sessions of 4, 6 hours and use a timer to divide a task into smaller units.
Put the syllabus first and not other things; prepare weekly planners that are designed for the semester exams. By avoiding long, last minute cram sessions, one can increase performance significantly, up to 20, 30% by this method.

Budget Wisely for Campus Life

In order to cope with the rising costs of fees, mess bills, and metro fares, an individual should keep a record of his or her expenses through applications like Walnut or Money View. Thirty days' money is to be distributed as follows: 50% for necessary expenses, 30% for fun (canteen treats, outings), and 20% for savings.
Use OLX to buy used textbooks, get a student discount from Swiggy, and take a part time job like tutoring. Do not fall into the trap of lifestyle inflation by bicycle or public transport if you want to keep 5, 000 every month.

Prioritize Health and Wellness

Hostel food is low in nutrition which results in students becoming tired. Keep healthy snacks such as roasted chana, fruits, and nuts readily available; prepare simple dishes if you have the permission. Practice any physical activity for 30 minutes every day, take part in college yoga classes or go for a run in the college premises. Take 7 hours of sleep, drink water, and if there is stress, then handle it by using meditation apps such as Calm.

Leverage Networking Opportunities

Connections are very important for getting a job in the Indian market. So, do the following stuff with full energy and enthusiasm: Visit alumni meets, attend LinkedIn events, and be a placement cell member or a student. Get involved in activities like NSS, debate clubs, or tech fests not only for acquiring skills but also for getting referrals.

Ace Academics and Placements

One should be very careful about maintaining a CGPA of more than 7.5 as it is the key to get various opportunities. You can get good, free lectures from different YouTube channels. To get a job through campus placement, one should be ready for the aptitude test and interview. Also, aim at getting a job through campus drives by companies like TCS, Infosys etc.
