Haunted ‘The Conjuring’ House To Be Auctioned On Halloween, Check Details!

The haunted farmhouse that inspired The Conjuring films will go under the hammer this Halloween. The Rhode Island property, once home to the Perron family, will be sold at a foreclosure auction on October 31. According to JJManning Auctioneers, the sale will begin at 11 a.m. local time. Fans of the supernatural, developers and tourism companies are expected to join the bidding.

The Burrillville farmhouse is a key part of The Conjuring universe, a horror franchise that has grossed more than $2.3 billion worldwide. Built in 1736, the property has carried several names over the centuries, including Richardson House, the Arnold Estate and Old Brook Farm. Today, it is best known as The Conjuring House.

The home sits on 8.5 acres of land and features 14 rooms, three bedrooms, a library and multiple living areas. Its reputation as one of America’s most haunted houses grew after James Wan’s 2013 film The Conjuring. The movie dramatised the real-life investigations of Ed and Lorraine Warren. They worked with the Perron family, who claimed they were tormented by spirits tied to Bathsheba Sherman, a woman accused of witchcraft in the 1800s.

“This antique farmhouse has become famous for historical paranormal sightings and activity,” the official listing notes, as reported by the New York Post.

Auctioneer Justin J. Manning confirmed that interest in the property is already high. “The property is already drawing more attention in one week than all of those others combined,” he told People. He added that “builders, developers and fans of the supernatural” are all likely to compete on auction day.

The farmhouse was last purchased in May 2022 for $1.5 million by Boston developer Jacqueline Nunez. She turned it into a ghost tourism venture with overnight stays and guided paranormal tours. However, her time as owner was filled with controversy. Reports surfaced of disputes with staff, including a claim that she fired an employee after being told by a ghost that the worker was stealing. In 2023, she also lost the property’s entertainment license after a DUI arrest.

Legal battles, unpaid wages and mounting financial pressure eventually led to a mortgage default. These problems forced the property into foreclosure, paving the way for the Halloween auction.

The eerie history of the farmhouse continues to attract attention. Comedian Matt Rife and YouTuber Elton Castee have both expressed interest in buying the property. The duo already co-own the former Connecticut home of Ed and Lorraine Warren, which houses the couple’s famous occult collection, including the Annabelle doll.

With its deep ties to horror cinema and real-life paranormal claims, the Haunted Conjuring House is set to become one of the most talked-about auctions of the year. On Halloween, bidders will not only compete for the historic estate but also for a chilling piece of supernatural history.
