“Hum Actor Hain, Mimic Nahi!” Ishtiyak Khan REVEALS Why He Quit Comedy Shows After Kapil Sharma Appearance

Recently, Ishtiyak Khan sat with Rahul Varun on the podcast “Ishtiyak Khan Exposes: Bollywood Mein Actors Ko Kyun Stereotype Kiya Jata Hai?” under The Filmy Charcha. Known for strong character roles in films like Jolly LLB, Tamasha, Ludo, Bharat, and Anaarkali of Aarah, the actor spoke freely about his journey. One topic caught attention. He said that doing too much comedy on such shows can affect film work. “Hum mimicry nahi kar sakte, stand-up comedy bhi nahi,” he explained. He felt that forcing himself into that space would look fake. He feared it could harm his acting image. The concern was simple. If people start seeing him only in comedy bits, serious film roles may stop coming. For him, acting was always the main goal.

An important point came when Ishtiyak Khan spoke about money. He admitted offers did come. Payments were good. Still, something felt off. “Paise mil rahe the, lekin maza nahi aaya,” he said. That line summed up his choice. In Bollywood, many actors take work just for money. Ishtiyak chose differently. He felt that if the work does not suit him, it should be avoided. This mindset is rare.
