During a recent podcast with Rahul Varun on The Filmy Charcha, Rajpal Yadav was questioned about a viral reel from his earlier interview with The Lallantop. In that short clip, he had mentioned that the investor gave ₹5 crore partly with thoughts of launching his grandson in future. The comment spread quickly on social media and became linked to the larger ₹5 crore loan controversy and cheque bounce case.
Rahul Varun Asks Direct Question
Rahul Varun asked clearly where the grandson launch matter actually came from. He pointed out that Rajpal had already spoken about the ₹5 crore loan in press conferences and interviews. The viral clip made people believe that the investment had a hidden condition. The actor was asked whether the money was connected to a film launch plan for the investor’s family member. The question aimed to separate facts from rumours that were growing online.
Rajpal Yadav Shares House Meeting Details
Rajpal Yadav replied that the discussion happened casually at the investor’s house in 2010 after the ₹5 crore amount was already given for the film Ata Pata Laapata. He said he always speaks respectfully about elders and their Guru Ji. According to him, during a friendly conversation, the investor mentioned that his own Guru Ji once told him that he would enter the entertainment field. Rajpal claimed the mention of the grandson was a general family talk, not part of any written agreement.
Actor Denies Launch Condition In Agreement
The actor clarified that there was no official condition linking the investment to launching anyone in films. He said the topic came up as a normal discussion about future possibilities. Rajpal stated that no one can force someone to become an actor and no one can stop talent either. He maintained that the ₹5 crore was part of a package deal related to film production and repayment after release, not a personal favour for a family debut.
Legal Case And Career Continue Side By Side
The loan dispute later turned into a long legal case filed by businessman Madhav Gopal Agrawal of Murali Projects. The amount reportedly increased to around ₹9 crore over time & the Delhi High Court granted Rajpal interim bail in February 2026 after he deposited ₹1.5 crore due to which he is able to continue shooting for Welcome to the Jungle and other projects despite the case. The actor says he remains ready to follow every court order while focusing on his work in cinema.
