Ankit Bathla Discusses About The LGBTQIA+ Community

 Apni Khaki actor Ankit Bathla considers the nation has progressed in terms of welcoming the LGBTQIA+ population. According to him, everyone’s sexual and gender identity is their personal decision; nobody has the right to criticize it.

“We have come a long way, and for me personally, love is love. It has nothing to do with your loving style or person. Everything revolves on the decisions one makes in their life. Earlier, a younger man and an older woman were taboos; similarly, homoesextuality and LGBTQI+ are taboos, but I honestly believe that there is a long way we have come from. He also emphasized that many people try to hide their sexual identities since same-sex marriage is not yet legal in the nation. Still, he believes that embracing one’s identity serves only for their own benefit. “Same-sex marriage is not yet accepted in the nation we live in. Many people would rather hide themselves in the closet. Some people most certainly won’t come out even when it becomes legal. Therefore, all I would say is that you should accept yourself; the acceptance of society will not make difference.

Ankit also thinks that social media has been quite helpful in to have a positive discussion on this community. ” Actually, a lot of celebrities, Bollywood stars began discussing the petition on social media when it was filed; policy changes have been made, and we are moving toward general more acceptance of love. Therefore, social media is indeed a great starting point for a conversation. And I simply hope that it is an ongoing conversation rather than just for pride month.
