Shreya Ghoshal Postpones Her Concert Due To Kolkata Rape-Murder Case

Born in West Bengal, Shreya Ghoshal postponed her Kolkata concert owing to the heinous crime of rape and murder with a doctor in Kolkata. Many actors and singers are protesting for this crime in their own way. Indo-Canadian rapper and singer AP Dhillon and Indian singer Arijit Singh both dedicated a song for the Kolkata rape victim. Arijit released a protest song, which was a call for action called “Aar Kobe,” meaning “When will it end?”

Shreya Ghoshal is Very Affected

Shreya Ghoshal shared a post on her official X account (formerly known as Twitter) and said that she is deeply affected by the gruesome and heinous crime that took place in Kolkata. Shreya further said that being a woman herself, the very thought of sheer brutality that the victim must have gone through is unthinkable to her and sends shiver down her spine.

Rescheduling Concert

Shreya Ghoshal announced in the post that with an aching heart and deep sorrow, Ishq FM, who are the promoters of the show and herself, have decided to reschedule the concert “Shreya Ghoshal Live, All Hearts Tour Ishq FM Grand Concert” which was originally scheduled for 14 September, 2024. The concert will now be rescheduled in the month of October, 2024.

Shreya Joins in Solidarity

Shreya in the post also talked about women’s safety. She said that she is aware that the concert was anticipated by all of them but it was absolutely imperative for her to take a stand and join in solidarity. Shreya also prayed for women’s respect and safety in the world.

Shreya Ghoshal is very hopeful that her fans and friends would accept and understand of rescheduling the concert due to this gruesome crime. Shreya requested them to stay with together with herself and her band as they stay united against the demons of humankind.

Shreya Ghoshal asked all the audience to bear with them until they announce a new date. Shreya informed the audience who have booked the ticket previously, that their ticket will remain valid for the new date.
