Paresh Rawal Calls RJ ‘Stupid’, Gets Trolled In Return

The actor Paresh Rawal is facing a big backlash on social media after his sharp response to RJ Sayema over a sarcastic post about Dhurandhar: The Revenge. 

The incident began when RJ Sayema published a video on X where two people mockingly reviewed Dhurandhar: The Revenge in the form of a reel. She shared the clip and wrote: ‘Hahahaha. Best review of Dhurandhar!”.

When Paresh Rawal replied to the post with, “Your job as a stupid reporter is secured. Nobody wants it.”.

However, his comment spread quickly across the web, especially when people noted that RJ Sayema is a radio jockey (not a reporter). 

After Paresh’s response, RJ Sayema publicly responded and corrected him. She wrote, “Get your facts right. I am not a reporter. You are just an actor, hugely distant from your art in real life.”. 

Her comments went viral and many social media users chimed in to discuss it. Paresh Rawal, however, was criticized by many people for his tone and also for the fact that he had gotten her profession wrong.

Following the exchange, several X users reacted strongly against Paresh Rawal.

One user wrote that Sayema is an RJ, not a reporter, and made a dig at the actor too. Another user emphasized that social media often exposes the “real face” of celebrities, no matter how much PR they do. One added that it's sad to hear an actor whom people once looked up to now come off as bitter and in desperate need of attention. 

On the Internet, the incident has since become a hot topic, where many have debated whether celebrities should react with such fierce fury to backlash.

Paresh Rawal has previously spoken out against someone for giving a review of his movie, Dhurandhar. 

When the first part of this movie came out he also criticized film reviewer Anupama Chopra. Now the sequel is in theaters, however, and his latest comment once again puts him into controversy. 

The Revenge also does well at the box office.

The movie reportedly made Rs. 43 crore in Wednesday paid previews and Rs. 102.55 crore on Thursday, on the first day of its operation. That brings its sum of collection to Rs. 145.55 crore already. 

The film, directed by Aditya Dhar and starring Ranveer Singh, should grow even further over the weekend. Early estimates suggest it may soon reach the Rs. 300 to 400 crore mark in the first few days.

Paresh Rawal’s response to RJ Sayema’s post could have been short, but it has sparked a huge online storm. At present, Dhurandhar: The Revenge is enjoying a strong run at the box office. The film’s controversy on social media has spread more buzz. 

Now, everyone’s eyes are turned to whether the actor responds further or lets the matter rest.
