Kartik Aaryan Loses Relatives In Ghatkopar Hoarding Accident

Kartik Aaryan, the famous actor attended the funerals of his relatives who lost their lives in the Ghatkopar hoarding accident. His relatives were under the hoarding when it fell and lost their lives. Their bodies were recovered on May 15 and the bodies were identified as Manoj Chansoria and Anita Chansoria. They were the uncle and aunt of Kartik Aaryan. Manoj Chansoria was the Air Traffic Control(ATC) general manager.

Kartik Aaryan who is currently occupied with the promotions of his upcoming movie Chandu Champion, attended the funeral of his relatives on May 16 at Sahar Crematorium. 

Manoj and Anita had stopped at the petrol pump to refuel when the hoarding fell. Manoj had retired as the general manager of Mumbai ATC in March and moved to Jabalpur. The couple were in Mumbai for a few days to finish visa formalities and were on the way back when the accident happened. The couple was identified when the son who lives in America couldn’t reach them and filed a missing complaint through a friend. The police tracked their last location near the petrol pump. When the couple’s friend reached the site, they hoped the couple would be rescued from under the debris but unfortunately they had passed.

The hoarding collapsed on May 13 due to heavy rains, high winds and dust storms. The billboard fell on the Police Ground petrol pump along the Eastern Express Highway. The collapse killed 16 people and injured many more. There were around 100 other people trapped under the collapsed hoarding and petrol pump. The owner of the firm responsible for the hoarding has been arrested. Rescue operations ended on Wednesday with numerous people rescued from the debris and sent to various hospitals for treatment.
