Thangalaan film actress Parvathy Thiruvothu opens up about her makeup that seemed to be natural. She also revealed some interesting and unknown behind the scenes that included a prodigious experience in her life.

Parvathy Thiruvothu Reveals Her Makeover For Thangalaan

Parvathy Thiruvothu, an Indian actress who won Best Performance (Female) at the Indian Film Festival of Melbourne recently revealed that “it was all makeup” in Thangalaan.

In a recent interview with The Filmy Charcha, Parvathy Thiruvotha was asked if she was in her natural look for the film. Parvathy replied that it took five hours every day for the makeup artists to achieve the look.

She mentioned “that it was makeup, and it took five hours to complete. One day, we were called for a shoot scheduled at 5 PM, right around sunset. They handed me a plow, like the ones used for farming. Now, our skin isn’t the type that undergoes skincare routines seven times a day, so the look wasn’t naturally achieved. The makeup team was excellent at showing the kind of damage that prolonged exposure to the sun would cause on the skin. So when you watch the film, you’ll notice that there’s a period where the skin appears damaged, and they had to recreate that effect. It took 2½ hours for me, but for ‘Thangalaan,’ it took a minimum of 5 hours every day.”

Her statement shows the hard work that the crew and the actors have to do. Their struggle always stays behind the scenes till someone speaks about it. Parvathy talked about it very precisely and appreciated her makeup team that worked so hard to get that natural look.

What Parvathy Thiruvothu Said About Her Tattoos

Parvathy describes the history of why she had to wear tattoos and how she used to feel in the tribal outfit.

She says, “And so the very tattoos and everything was there. Women at that time weren’t allowed to wear blouses. Toh aisa tarika tha ki, woh women tattoos karti thi blouse ki design mei. And it’s not de-glam, it’s not ‘without makeup’, it’s makeup and beautiful.”

Vikram supported her points and stated, “It’s actually more exotic, if you actually look at those tattoos, they look beautiful!”

The perception of Parvathy and Vikram sounds pretty positive and respectful towards the dressing of those people. They further said that they felt comfortable and it gave them a sense of originality and connectivity.

Their film Thangalaan is based on the people and the true events of Kolar Gold Fields in Karnataka during the British excavation of loot for gold. The film covers the very concept of courage against slavery, fraternity, and the lives of the tribal people.
