A Film Festival at the India International Centre by Instituto Cervantes will honor legendary Spanish directors.

New Delhi, June 5, 2024— Instituto Cervantes is excited to announce a spectacular film festival at the India International Centre from June 11 to July 1, 2024. Six masterpieces by Spain’s most famous directors will be shown during this event, providing a panoramic view of classic Spanish cinema.

Celebrating Iconic Spanish Film Directors revisits Spanish cinema’s foundation. Directors such as Buñuel, Berlanga, Saura, Medem, and Fernando Fernán Gómez are considered Spanish cinema titans in their own right. Oscar Pujol, Director of Instituto Cervantes, rejoices in presenting them in their best films for a panoramic picture of traditional Spanish cinema that keeps reinventing itself.

Festival High Point:

A 6:30 PM roundtable talk titled ‘Spotlight on Spanish Cinema: Icons and Masters’ will be conducted on June 18. Famous film scholars and critics will examine these directors’ contributions and legacies.
