Chiyaan Vikram Says “Aparichit” Put Him On The Indian Map

Chiyaan Vikram is a superstar who mainly works in Tamil movie industry. His real name is Kennedy John Vikram, but is professionally known as Vikram. Many might not know but Vikram apart from being an ace actor is also a playback singer. Vikram was given a title “Chiyaan” as it was his nickname in a breakthrough hit movie “Sethu.”

About Aparichit

“Anniyan” is the Tamil name given to the movie. It was then named “Aparichit” for the Hindi language audience. As mentioned above, Aparichit/Anniyan, is a Tamil language movie and is directed by S. Shankar. “Aparichit” was one of the most memorable movie from the Kollywood film industry. The Hindi version of the movie was released almost a year later then the Tamil version.

Storyline of Aparichit

Originally released in 2005, Aparichit, is a movie about a lawyer by the day, named Ramanujan, who turns into a vigilante during the night. He suffers from multiple personality disorder. He wishes to change the antisocial elements of the society and hence takes inspiration from ‘Garuda Purana’ to punish those antisocial elements.

Vikram’s Statement

During a podcast show of Ranveer Allahbadia, they talked about many things. One of them being Aparichit. Ranveer said that for doing the movie – Aparichit, “Pan India” got to know Vikram. Vikram agreed to this and said, “I was very popular in the south. Nobody knew me in Bombay and the. I was going with this friend. We were shopping something and suddenly one guy looked at me and I said – ‘I think he has recognised me.’ He (friend) said, ‘Come on, you’re Vikram.’ I said nobody knows me here.” What happened next made Vikram realise that he has also gotten popular in Bombay. Vikram said that guy who was looking at him came up to him and asked, “Are you that guy?” This made Vikram excited. He said, “Aparichit did that to me. Aparichit is what put me on the map, on the Indian map. People identified with that character and what he stood for. I think that’s one of the most beautiful things that has happened to me.”

How Difficult Was It To Do Different Roles In Aparichit For Vikram?

Vikram during the podcast shared Aparichit disturbed him a bit as the movie had three characters- Ramanujan, Remo and Aparichit. He was not able to do shape shifting very well during those days. Hence, they used to do 15 days shift for one character and then 15 days off. This used to go on for all the three characters.
