Kantara Chapter 1 Collections Drop To Single-Digit On Day 15 - To Reach Rs 500 Cr In India, It Needs…

After the huge success of Kantara – A Legend, Rishab Shetty is once again winning hearts with his intense performance. The film opened strong and enjoyed a dream run in theatres. After two weeks, it is yet to reach Rs 500 crore domestically, though its worldwide collections have already passed this milestone.

Kantara Chapter 1 continues to impress audiences, but its box office pace in India is slowing. On Day 15, the film earned just Rs 7.77 crore. Its total now stands at Rs 484.17 crore nett. To reach the Rs 500 crore mark in India, it needs about Rs 15 crore more.

According to trade tracker Sacnilk, the film had a strong second weekend, earning Rs 78.75 crore over Saturday and Sunday. But weekdays saw a decline. Monday of the second week brought in Rs 13.35 crore, Wednesday earned Rs 10.5 crore, and Thursday dipped further to Rs 7.77 crore. This is a natural slowdown after two weeks of solid performance.

Despite the dip, Kantara Chapter 1 has outperformed big releases like Saiyaara, Coolie, War 2, and Lokah Chapter 1. It is now the second-highest-grossing film of the year. Still, it trails behind Vicky Kaushal’s historical drama Chhaava, featuring Rashmika Mandanna and Akshaye Khanna. Chhaava remains the top grosser of the year, with Rs 601.54 crore in India and Rs 807.91 crore worldwide.

Kantara Chapter 1 is a mythological action drama and a prequel to Shetty’s 2022 hit Kantara. Set in pre-colonial Karnataka, it explores the origins of Daiva worship, also known as Bhuta Kola. The story shows how divine forces protect nature and faith against human greed and power. Rishab Shetty plays Berme, a fierce protector of his land. Rukmini Vasanth, Gulshan Devaiah, and Jayaram play key roles.

The film has been praised for its stunning visuals, rich cinematography, and culturally rooted storytelling. Critics have also highlighted Shetty’s performance, calling it one of the year’s best.
