Zaira Wasim Gets MARRIED in an Intimate Ceremony: Fans Praise Her “Deen Over Dunya” Decision

Actor Zaira Wasim, who is renowned for her powerful performances in Aamir Khan’s Dangal, Secret Superstar and The Sky Is Pink, has now tied the knot in a private wedding ceremony. Zaira, the former Bollywood actor has announced her marriage through Instagram. The 24-year-old shared some pictures of her intimate nikaah ceremony, leaving fans both emotional and inspired.

Zaira shared two serene photographs on her official handle. In the first picture, she is seen signing her nikaah nama, the Islamic marriage contract, her hand beautifully adorned with mehendi and an emerald ring catching the light. 

 The second image shows the newlyweds facing away from the camera, gazing at the night sky illuminated by the moon. Zaira’s bridal look featured a deep red dupatta intricately embroidered with gold, while her groom opted for a classic cream sherwani and matching stole.

The heartfelt images quickly drew overwhelming love from fans and followers. One comment read, “Leaving everything for Allah is a rare kind of strength, and you’ve shown it beautifully. Your journey inspires me every day.” Another user wrote, “Allahumma barik, sister. May Allah bless your marriage and keep you both together till Jannah. Ameen.”

A third admirer added, “You chose Deen over Dunya — that’s true success. May Allah bless your Nikah with love, peace, and endless barakah.”

While Zaira has not revealed the identity of her husband, fans flooded her post with congratulatory messages and prayers for her new journey.

Zaira first won hearts in 2016 with her portrayal of young wrestler Geeta Phogat in Aamir Khan’s Dangal, a performance that earned her the National Film Award for Best Supporting Actress. She followed it up with Secret Superstar (2017), where she played a young singer fighting against social odds, a role that solidified her as one of Bollywood’s most promising talents.

However, in 2019, Zaira announced her retirement from films, saying her career conflicted with her faith. In a Facebook post, she wrote, “For a very long time, it has felt like I have struggled to become someone else. I am not truly happy with this identity — my line of work has threatened my relationship with my religion.”

In another statement, she humbly acknowledged the praise she received, writing, “While I am grateful for the love people shower me with, the praise that comes my way isn’t gratifying. It’s a big test for me, and dangerous for my Iman.”

Her decision, though met with mixed reactions at the time, now feels complete with this new chapter in her life. Zaira Wasim’s wedding not only marks a personal milestone but also reaffirms her commitment to the values she holds dear faith, humility, and authenticity.
