Varun Dhawan announced as the Lead of Citadel in India. Check out Russo Brothers' reaction!

In the Indian edition of Citadel on Prime Video, Varun Dhawan will play the lead role. The show, in which Priyanka Chopra and Richard Madden were the original stars, will now have an Indian adaptation. The series’ filming will start in January 2023.

The Russo brothers and Varun shared the news on social media. They expressed their delight at working together on this endeavour in their letter.

Varun said in a statement, “Citadel is an exceptionally ambitious and exciting franchise, and to be part of this magnificent universe, conceptualised by the Russo Brothers’ AGBO and Jennifer Salke, is a landmark moment in my career. I have been a big fan of their work and I am beyond thrilled to be a part of this project, and can’t wait to start shooting it. The storyline of the Indian Citadel chapter is fantastic, and when you have creators like Raj & DK on board, one can be certain that a spectacle is in the making.”

The Russo brothers created the Citadel universe. However, Raj & DK are also the creators of this particular series. They will oversee the series’ production. The remaining cast members have not yet been revealed.
