SRK’s Generous Move: No Interest Charged for Ittefaq Funding

Mumbai (Maharashtra) [India] February 24: King Khan of Bollywood has once more shown why he is not just a great performer but also a real gentleman. Legendary for his generosity and unflinching support of his friends and coworkers, producer Renu Chopra recently shared another touching story about Shah Rukh Khan. Funding Abhay Chopra's first movie, Ittefaq, the Badshah of Bollywood also refused to levy interest on the money he spent, referring to it as "haraam" for him.

 In an interview with Pinkvilla, late filmmaker Ravi Chopra's widow Renu Chopra revealed how SRK intervened to help her son Abhay Chopra's directorial debut at a period when she lacked the means to produce the film. SRK supported the project without question even though he hardly even read the script. Why? Simple: he thought Abhay was great.

"Maine kaha, 'Dekh, paise mere paas nahi hai,' toh he said, 'Woh main laga dunga,'" Renu recounted. (I remarked, "I don't have money," and he responded, "I'll put in the money.") Declaring, "I never back the horse; I back the jockey," his faith in Abhay was unflinching. Now, if that is not trust and loyalty, what then is?

 In Bollywood, where contracts and financial transactions sometimes carry high interest rates, SRK's kindness distinguished out. While most filmmakers demand an interest rate on movie investments, Shah Rukh adamantly refused to take any additional money when it came time to talk about finances. "Nahi, ye haraam hai mere liye," Renu Chopra remembered him saying. Main nahi lunga: No, I find this forbidden. I am not going to take it). Everyone was in wonder of his humility and friendliness from this deed.

 Inspired by the 1969 Yash Chopra movie of the same name, Ittefaq, a neo-noir thriller debuted in 2017, Under direction Abhay Chopra and co-written by Nikhil Mehrotra and Shreyas Jain, Sidharth Malhotra, Akshaye Khanna, and Sonakshi Sinha starred in the film. Although it had good reviews and did really well at the box office, collecting ₹51.47 crore globally, the whole narrative behind its development becomes much more intriguing with SRK's generosity.

 SRK is getting ready for his upcoming action-thriller, King, directed by Siddharth Anand, as supporters swarm over his charity. The movie apparently has Abhishek Bachchan in major roles alongside Suhana Khan, his daughter. Saying, "My director, Siddharth Anand, is very strict," the actress hinted to the audience about the movie at a function in Dubai's Global Village Making Pathaan, he remarked, "Don't tell people about the film or what you are doing in it." I can guarantee you, though, you will enjoy seeing it.

 From financing movies without limitations to producing box-office blockbusters, Shah Rukh Khan still rules both the business and the hearts of millions. His kindness to Ittefaq marks yet another chapter in the legacy of the most adored Bollywood performer.
