Shatrughan Sinha On Sonakshi Sinha Trolling: ‘Is BJP IT Cell Behind It?’

Shatrughan Sinha has made a compelling assertion regarding the trolling his daughter Sonakshi Sinha is facing on social media platforms. The veteran actor and leader of the Trinamool Congress claimed that the trolling she is getting is part of a conspiracy hatched by the IT wing of the BJP. His daughter recently supported the students' protest led by CJP in Delhi and got trolled on social media. His recent comments have added another political dimension to the ongoing controversy surrounding the actress and his daughter Sonakshi.

Shatrughan was speaking to ABP News and was asked if Sonakshi could eventually enter politics. The question came after the actor publicly spoke about student protests and other issues. Shatrughan said he could not confirm her plans. He added, “I can't say. Earlier, I used to ask. I can only say she is the most worthy daughter of a worthy father.” He also suggested that Sonakshi's political views can be even stronger and more direct than his own. For now, there is no confirmation from Sonakshi about joining active politics.

Shatrughan then made his strongest allegation while discussing the online attacks against his daughter. He claimed that some people trolling Sonakshi are paid and alleged that the BJP IT cell is involved. “Many people who troll her and try to create ruckus around her, they are paid trolls,” he said. He added, “The IT cell that our friends have, the BJP, they are doing it and also those who follow their policies.” Shatrughan further alleged, “This trolling is manufactured, they are paid trolls, they don't even know what to say...it is written and given to them.” These are his allegations and were not independently established in the report.

Sonakshi was one of the Bollywood stars who showed their support to the student movement organized by the CJP in Delhi. The actor posted a video regarding the issue after activist Sonam Wangchuk was manhandled at Jantar Mantar. “The thing that happened with Sonam sir today…it wasn’t right,” she said. Sonakshi also praised the protesters for remaining peaceful. “No matter what has been going on, they have stayed calm, respectful, and have kept their point forward without violence,” she said. Her comments drew both support and criticism online, bringing her political views back into focus.

Despite the trolling, Shatrughan said Sonakshi has chosen not to give online criticism too much importance. “But Sonakshi has done the right thing by saying that she doesn't even look at trolls. Bahut jaan hai usmein,” he said, praising her strength. The actor has faced online criticism on several occasions, including after her marriage to Zaheer Iqbal. Her decision to speak publicly on student protests has now triggered another wave of debate. Meanwhile, her father's comments have put the focus on the larger question of political trolling and celebrity voices on social media.
