Param Sundari starring Sidharth Malhotra and Janhvi Kapoor arrived in theatres today. The film tells a cross-cultural love story set between Delhi and Kerala. Param Sachdev (Sidharth Malhotra), a lively Delhi boy, travels to a small town in Kerala. He is testing a dating app called Find Your Soulmate before investing Rs 5 crore. The app says Thekkepaattu Sundari Damodar Pillai (Janhvi Kapoor) is his perfect match.

Param struggles with Malayalam, showing that not all South Indian languages are the same. He tries many ways to impress Sundari, but she ignores him. With her Ammavan (maternal uncle played by Renji Panicker), she teaches Param a lesson. Their first encounter at the Kalaripayattu ground sets the stage for their growing bond.

Param slowly falls in love with Sundari. During the Onam festival, the town visits a temple. Param plans to confess his feelings. But Sundari meets her childhood friend Venu (Siddhartha Shankar). Ammavan announces that Sundari will marry Venu to honour her parents. Sundari and Venu were childhood sweethearts who drifted apart due to work. Param is left heartbroken.

He joins the town’s Onam games but fails at first and struggles to fit in. At Sundari and Venu’s engagement, Param finds a way back into the group. When a boat race participant gets injured, Param joins the race. Using a technique Sundari taught him, singing Yeh Dil Deewana to set the rowing rhythm, Param helps his team win. This marks a key turning point.

Param’s father arrives at the homestay and asks him to reveal the truth behind his visit. Param confesses, leaving Sundari upset. Sundari prepares to marry Venu. Param climbs a coconut tree to reach her, leading to a chase. At a cliff, he dives into the water to escape the townspeople. Sundari abandons Venu and jumps in after him. She finally kisses Param in the middle of the water, recalling a conversation about intimacy at a church. The story ends with the song Bheegi Saree.
