“It Was a Conscious Decision by Karan Johar”—Triptii Dimri on Dhadak 2 Music Release Delay Strategy

Mumbai(Maharashtra)[India] July 17: In a recent press conference, Triptii Dimri and Siddhant Chaturvedi shared their thoughts on their upcoming release Dhadak 2, a spiritual sequel of 2018 release Dhadak. The original 2018 release Dhadak starred Ishaan Khattar and Janhvi Kapoor in lead roles. Triptii Dimri was asked, "Why Triptii Dimri’s Film Music Was Held Back—Fans Flood Social Media With Questions"

Triptii Dimri was asked, "Your songs are always musically successful, whether it's on OTT platforms or films like Animal and Bad Newzz. We only got a glimpse of the music at the end of the trailer this time. Without going into too many details, can you say something about the music?"

Triptii Dimri's movies have always been praised for their music tracks. If we talk about Laila Majnu, the song O Meri Laila, sung by Atif Aslam and Jyoti Tangri, recieved much praise. In Qala, songs like Ghodey Pe Sawaar and Shauq went viral on reels too. Recent releases, Animal, Bad Newzz and Vicky Vidya ka Woh Wala Video, all had a great music.

Triptii Dimri said, "I mean, the music of our film is very special. The songs haven’t been released yet, and that was a conscious decision made by Karan Sir. He wanted people to watch the trailer first, connect with the story, and then release the music. "

She continued, "And now it’s working—people are actually expecting the music even more than before. There are plenty of comments on social media asking when the music and songs will be released. I think the music is really special, with amazing music directors and singers involved. The music will be out in just a few days, and all the songs are better than one another. It’s difficult to pick just one favorite. Honestly, every song is outstanding."

Triptii Dimri's career started with films like Mom, Poster Boys, Laila Majnu, Bulbbul and Qala. Although Triptii was praised much for her performance in Laila Majnu, Bulbbul and Qala, but she gained fame with her 2023 release, Ranbir Kapoor and Rashmika Mandana starrer Animal. She gained fame as "Bhabhi No. 2" for that film. After it, she has been doing commercial films like Bad Newz, Vicky Vidya Ka Woh Wala Video, Bhool Bhulaiya 3 and now Dhadak 2. She will also be seen in Arjun Ustara. The film is currently in filming stage.

Dhadak 2 was first meant to hit theatres on 22 November 2024. But it got delayed to 21 February 2025, and again to 1 August 2025. Issues with CBFC clearance and post-production caused the postponements. Now, the Dhadak 2 team is ready for the final release. Fans have been waiting from a long time. This long gap has only made the buzz stronger around Triptii's upcoming film.
