Hindi Remake Of THIS Telugu Crime Thriller With Ajay Devgn Shelved!

Ajay Devgn-led much-awaited Hindi remake of the Telugu hit Naandhi has officially been shelved. Director Vijay Kanakamedala, who directed the original film, confirmed the update while promoting his upcoming Telugu release Bhairavam.

The Hindi remake was first announced in 2021. Producer Dil Raju had joined hands with Ajay Devgn to back the project. Ajay had praised the film’s content at the time, saying its “powerful content” made him come on board. But since then, the film saw no progress, and updates stopped coming.

Director Vijay finally broke the silence at a recent event. He revealed that it has been shelved there were multiple reasons behind the decision. He did not share further details, but industry buzz hints at creative differences or changing market trends as possible factors. Both Vijay and Ajay have now moved on to new projects.

Naandhi was a 2021 Telugu courtroom thriller that won praise from both critics and audiences. The film starred Allari Naresh in the lead and marked his strong comeback after a string of flops. Vijay Kanakamedala also made his directorial debut with this film.

The plot followed Surya Prakash, a software engineer falsely accused of murder. Corrupt police officers framed him, leading to years of torture and trauma in jail as an undertrial. With help from a lawyer named Aadhya, he used IPC Section 211 to fight back and prove his innocence. The film stood out for its intense narrative and strong message about justice and corruption.

Following its success, Bollywood fans were excited to see Ajay bring the story to the Hindi audience. But after the initial buzz, the project quietly disappeared. Vijay’s confirmation now clears the air, ending all speculation.

Meanwhile, Ajay Devgn is riding high on the success of Raid 2, which is set to cross Rs 150 crore at the box office. He’s also shooting for Dhamaal 4 and will return with sequels like De De Pyaar De 2, Shaitaan 2, and Son of Sardaar 2. His schedule remains packed.

On the other hand, Vijay is focusing on Bhairavam and continues his directorial journey in Telugu cinema.
