EXCLUSIVE: Vikrant Massey Breaks Silence On 'Retirement' Post: ‘Felt the Love for the First Time’

Mumbai (Maharashtra) [India] July 9: Vikrant Massey one of the mos t versatile actors of the generation, shocked the fans when he decided to retire from acting. The actor posted a cryptic Instagram post on 2 December, which fans misinterpreted as ‘Retirement’ post. The actor then clarified that he is taking a temporary break. Vikrant is currently busy in promoting Aankhon Ki Gustakhiyaan with Shanaya Kapoor. In an exclusive conversation with The Filmy Charcha, he reveals how much love was showered towards him after the post. 

When asked about how fans showered love to him after that post, The actor responded, “Yes yes truly, I felt the love for the first time which mostly I had never felt before. You asked a great question because before today nobody asked me this question. Got an experience that somewhere have made a place in the hearts of audiences, they believe in work, they like me. It felt really nice that fans are showering this much love. But more than this I was really stressed that my statement has been misinterpreted and misunderstood. I feel on the same day I gave clarification about my post that It’s a break, much needed break at that point in time.”

On 2 December Vikrant Massey posted a cryptic post which was misinterpreted as retirement post. The post read, “The last few years and beyond have been phenomenal. I thank each and every one of you for your indelible support. But as I move forward, I realise it’s time to recalibrate and go back home. As a Husband, Father & a Son. And also as an Actor. So coming 2025, we would meet each other for one last time. Until time deems right. Last 2 movies and many a years of memories. Thank you again. For everything and everything in between,” Vikrant wrote in the note.

“I’m not retiring… Just burned out. Need a long break. Miss home and health are also acting up… People misread it [the social media post],” Vikrant said.

He added, "Acting Is all I can do. And it has given me everything I have. My physical and mental health have taken a hit. I just want to take some time off, want to better my craft. I feel a sense of monotony at the moment. My post has been misinterpreted. That I am quiting or retiring from acting. I want to take some time off to focus on my family and health. I would be back when the time feels right."

Aankhon Ki Gustakhiyaan is presented by Zee Studios along with Mini Films. Mansi Bagla and Varun Bagla have produced this romantic drama. Santosh Singh is the director while Mansi Bagla is the writer. Vikrant Massey and debutant Shanaya Kapoor headline the film that will be released on 11 July.
