Exclusive! Here's Why Mukesh Khanna Didn't Do Any OTT Projects Yet

12th May 2024, Mumbai: In the current times, actors are more and more attracted to the OTT platforms, which have become very popular among audiences for watching web series and movies. These platforms provide actors and actresses with a chance of showcasing their talent and drawing many viewers.

Recently, In an exclusive chat with The Filmy Charcha Mukesh Khanna was asked why he has not yet appeared in any web series on OTT platforms. To this, he responded by explaining that people often ask him why he, as a respected actor, has not ventured into series or movies on OTT platforms. However, Khanna attributed this decision to what he calls “self-respect.” He expressed his deep connection to serials aired on Doordarshan, emphasizing their significance in his career. 

As for his reasons for not venturing into OTT platforms, he mentioned that there are a number of them. He admitted that some content is shared between men and women in social media disturbing him. Although there may be some financial bonuses, Khanna chooses to stick to his values and self-respect. 

Pondering over his earlier projects, Khanna revealed some of the nuances of filming ‘Shaktimaan’ and ‘Aaryamaan’. “Shaktimaan” brought him a fair amount of success, however, he did not fare as well with “Aaryamaan”, which was more expensive to make; nonetheless, audiences did not relate as well with this second show. Although he was struggling with the financial problems, Mukesh Khanna was glad that he did not have to ask for help from anyone. 

In general, Khanna’s standpoint shows his loyalty to his principles and his choice of projects that are in line with his values and beliefs. With the growth in the number of OTT platforms across the world, actors of the caliber like Mukesh Khanna give a unique insight into the changing trends in the entertainment scene.
