Did Deepika Padukone Charge Rs 20 Cr For Prabhas And Sandeep Reddy Vanga’s Spirit?

Deepika Padukone might be returning to the big screen in a major way. As per a recent report by India Today Digital, the star is expected to earn Rs 20 crore for her role in Spirit, directed by Animal filmmaker Sandeep Reddy Vanga. If true, this would mark the biggest pay cheque of her career, which is reportedly higher than what her husband, Ranveer Singh, earns per film.

The film stars Prabhas in the lead and could be Deepika’s second time teaming up with him after Kalki 2898 AD. Although the official cast announcement is still pending, speculation around Deepika’s involvement has already created a buzz online.

Earlier, Deepika had turned down the offer due to a clash with her pregnancy timeline. According to Pinkvilla, the film was originally set to start filming by the end of 2024. This made it difficult for her to commit. But when the shooting schedule shifted, the makers reportedly approached her again. With the revised dates, she was able to reconsider.

The delay turned out to be the perfect opportunity for Deepika to join the film. If she signs on, Spirit could be her first major release after welcoming her daughter, Dua, with Ranveer Singh earlier this year.

Sandeep Reddy Vanga is known for high-octane, emotional dramas. After delivering Kabir Singh and Animal, expectations for Spirit are sky-high. Prabhas will take the lead, but the rest of the cast remains under wraps for now.
Back in September 2024, Bollywood Hungama reported that Saif Ali Khan and Kareena Kapoor Khan were in talks to play the villains. 

However, the makers have yet to confirm this, and no official updates about the full cast, shoot schedule, or release date have been shared.
