Main Vaapas Aaunga Box Office Day 7: Sharvari-Vedang Starrer Continues Steady Run, Collects THIS Much

Imtiaz Ali’s much-talked-about film Main Vaapas Aaunga, starring Diljit Dosanjh, Naseeruddin Shah, Sharvari, and Vedang Raina, has completed its first week at the box office. Released on June 12, the film opened to positive reviews and encouraging audience feedback, which has helped it maintain a steady run-in cinemas.

The film recorded an estimated ₹2.20 crore nett collection on its seventh day, according to trade tracker Sacnilk. With this, Main Vaapas Aaunga has taken its total India nett collection to ₹12.04 crore. The film’s gross domestic collection currently stands at ₹14.33 crore.

Unlike films that depend heavily on a strong opening weekend, Main Vaapas Aaunga has followed a gradual growth pattern. The film has managed to hold well throughout the week and has shown signs of gaining momentum through positive word of mouth.

The movie opened with ₹1.15 crore on Day 1. Collections increased to ₹1.85 crore on Saturday before witnessing its best single-day collection of the opening weekend with ₹2.50 crore on Sunday.

As expected, the film saw a drop on Monday and earned ₹1.15 crore. However, it bounced back during the midweek period, collecting ₹1.65 crore on Tuesday and ₹1.75 crore on Wednesday. Thursday’s estimated ₹2.20 crore collection further strengthened the film’s first-week performance. With this, the film’s total India nett collection after its first week stands at ₹12.04 crore.

Main Vaapas Aaunga explores the emotional scars left behind by the Partition of India in 1947. The story revolves around a 95-year-old man who suffers a stroke while desperately trying to reach Pakistan. As he drifts between memory and reality, his grandson begins uncovering fragments of a deeply personal pre-Partition love story. Through themes of love, separation, sacrifice, longing, and hope, the film attempts to highlight the human cost of borders long after they were drawn.

One of the most encouraging aspects of the film’s box office journey has been its ability to recover after the weekday slowdown. The rise in collections from Tuesday onwards indicates growing audience interest.

Industry observers believe positive word of mouth, coupled with attractive ticket pricing initiatives in some regions, has helped bring more viewers to theatres. The film’s emotional storytelling, performances, and Imtiaz Ali’s direction have also contributed to its steady performance.
