Aamir Khan Was First Offered Lage Raho Munnabhai, Reveals Exciting Truth

Mumbai (Maharashtra) [India] March 10: Recently, actor Aamir Khan shared an interesting behind-the-scenes story about how he nearly featured in the famous Munnabhai film series. He said that he first received the position during a press conference where he also talked about Lage Raho Munnabhai's initial development. 

Amir Khan claimed that he had initially been approached by director Rajkumar Hirani with a script planned to be the first Munnabhai movie. Munnabhai MBBS, the 2003 hit that made Sanjay Dutt a popular gangster-turned-doctor, had not yet been imagined at that point.

The script that Rajkumar Hirani exposed to Aamir, however, underwent major modifications before becoming Lage Raho Munnabhai, the 2006 follow-up that first revealed the concept of Gandhigiri to audiences.

Aamir Khan claimed that Rajkumar Hirani informed him that he no longer had a different script to present because the original story had changed into Munna Bhai 2 when he came to talk about the script.

Aamir voiced his approval with the decision, saying he believed the project should go as a followup. He showed his belief in Hirani's vision by showing no regret for not being in the movie.

Khan gave additional details about Lage Raho Munnabhai's first script, saying that it was about a young independence fighter who was hurt during a laathi charge and fell into a coma.

He learnt that India had achieved independence and that the world had advanced to the 1990s when he regained consciousness 40–45 years later, but he still felt imprisoned in the past. The initial concept was based on his continuous conversations with Mahatma Gandhi, who was unaware that he had passed.

 While not joining the Munnabhai franchise, Aamir Khan's partnership with Rajkumar Hirani later had a big influence on Indian film. The two worked collaborated in 2014 funny sci-fi drama PK and the 2009 hit 3 Idiots, which is still among the highest-grossing Indian films. About his career, Aamir's next film is Sitaare Zameen Par.
